Curry Temple A.M.E.
BACKGROUND
In
1997, Dr. Delores Alleyne founded Save Our Sons (S.O.S.), and has
been the Chief Executive Director of Save Our Sons since its
inception. The Rev. Dr. Robert Smith was the pastor of Crenshaw
United Methodist Church when S.O.S. was founded in 1997. Dr. Smith
remains a strong supporter of S.O.S.
S.O.S.
is a community forum for black men as well as a support group for
prisoners, parolees, ex-offenders and their families and friends. Our
mission is to offer valuable information and guidance on coping
strategies, the law and legal system, referrals for housing and jobs,
expunging and sealing records.
MISSION
To
improve relations, services and futures of African Americans involved
in law and legal system.
GOALS

increase public awareness

encourage economic advancement
~To
prevent black men from going to jail/prison by promoting
opportunities in education, recreation, and
mentoring
~To
attempt to change legislation that causes excessive
arrest, conviction and incarceration of Black
men
~To
provide support and counseling to persons at risk.
